BUYER’S GUIDE

Confirm the major cost drivers before you order

For a large importer seeking a stable supplier, the strongest starting point is a complete brief that prevents expensive surprises later.

Define the product and destination

Send the product reference, quantities, target market, sales channel and required delivery window. Include materials, dimensions, intended use and compatibility requirements. Identify which details are fixed and where alternatives are welcome.

Specify testing before pricing

If your project requires GS testing, a specific REACH-related substance-testing scope or retailer-specific requirements, state them at the inquiry stage. Specify the relevant standard, version, test scope and required documents. These requirements can affect material selection, sample preparation, laboratory costs and the schedule.

Price the full instruction manual

A thick, multilingual manual can involve translation, layout, proofreading, additional pages, paper selection and assembly. Confirm languages, page count, format, paper weight and who approves the final content. Do not treat a substantial booklet as a standard leaflet.

Confirm special packaging finishes

Specify the box construction, material, printing, surface finish and any inserts or special processes. Foil stamping, embossing, coatings and other finishes can change tooling costs, lead time and packing work. Approve a proof before committing to the production run.

Agree cartons and pallets

Confirm units per inner and master carton, assortment packing, carton marks, barcode placement, carton dimensions and weight limits. If pallets are needed, agree the pallet specification, stacking plan, protection and destination requirements. These details affect handling, space and freight.

Create one approved cost baseline

Record the agreed product, packaging, testing, inspection, shipment and trade terms in one approval record. For changes after approval, confirm the effect on cost and schedule before proceeding. This is the foundation of a stable repeat-order relationship.
